Abloy Security and Click Systems have worked together to create a unique range of showcase cabinets that reflect the unusual design of the Imperial War Museum, North by Daniel Libeskind.
Once this risk had been identified, Tony Manning, Group Engineer with the Corporation of London and the man charged with overseeing operation of the inclinator, acted swiftly to eliminate it.
"I contacted Castell via their website and was pleased to discover that they could provide a cost-effective engineered solution", says Tony.
"Since installation, the system has proved very reliable and easy-to-use." When the windows are due to be cleaned, power to the inclinator is first isolated through operation of a KSD63 switch disconnector; this action releases a key, which is passed to Old Mutual.
The key is inserted into a track-mounted K bolt interlock located on the roof of the building, which enables the gondola trolley to be moved into position above the inclinator and the gondola itself to be lowered over the side of the building.
The procedure is reversed to put the inclinator back into service.
