DIY TV presenters,Tommy Walsh, demonstrates Catnic's innovative brick spacing system, Catnic Brikmat, at March's Homebuilding and Renovating Show at the Birmingham NEC.

One of the UK's most loved DIY TV presenters, Tommy Walsh, will be getting his hands dirty when he demonstrates Catnic's innovative brick spacing system, Catnic Brikmat, at March's Homebuilding and Renovating Show at the Birmingham NEC.

Tommy Walsh will be demonstrating the brick spacing system at the show on 4th March (the show runs from 2nd-5th March).

This will run alongside other live demonstrations of Catnic Brikmat held throughout the exhibition, which will enable visitors to see the product in-situ, demonstrating the benefits it can deliver.

Catnic's Sales Director, Terry Churchill, is very enthusiastic about Tommy Walsh demonstrating the company's latest addition to its building materials portfolio.

He said: "I am extremely pleased that Tommy Walsh has decided to demonstrate Catnic Brikmat at this year's show.

I think this is a fantastic product - it is so simple both to use and in its design that the majority of people who have seen a demonstration can't help but be impressed with it.

"It's also one of those rare products that improves quality and productivity without adding to the overall cost of construction - normally at least one of those variables is sacrificed for the sake of the others." Professional Builders' Product of the Year, Catnic Brikmat, is easy to use, giving fast and accurate results.

Launched at last year's Homebuilding and Renovating Show, it has been developed and extensively tested by building professionals and has proved to be up to 50% faster than conventional building techniques with both skilled and unskilled bricklayers.

As with many great inventions, the beauty of the product lies in its simplicity.

Catnic Brikmat is available in two spacing sizes and allows brick and blockwork to be constructed to a consistent course height without the need to check gauge and level at every course.

It also helps even out brick intolerances, as you can alternate between the two spacing sizes as necessary, which significantly reduces the time needed to inspect and if necessary correct your work.

Catnic Brikmat is particularly useful when building in confined spaces or at height, such as chimney stacks where the area cannot be stringed and it lends itself to building special features, such as pillars, curved walls and feature bays.

The Brikmat system also enables you to build during wet weather as it helps to stabilise brickwork, preventing dipping and floating.

One of the system's best assets is the ability to allow greater daily heights to be built with dense or heavy block work - rather than just three courses, which are built conventionally - as it prevents the mortar courses from being compressed under the weight of construction; again saving time and labour costs.

Following extensive trials on a broad range of sites, Catnic Brikmat is BBA certified and is available directly from the company.

The product will also be available to purchase at the show on the Catnic stand.

As with all Catnic products, it is fully supported by the company's dedicated technical, and sales support team.

Catnic has enjoyed a reputation for superior quality products and technical expertise, backed by excellent customer service for more than 30 years.
