Catnic support for housing development

A Catnic product story

Kenmore Homes has enlisted Catnic to provide 492 bespoke arch lintels for 'The Waterfront', a development of 80 apartments at James Watt Dock in Greenock, Scotland.

Kenmore Homes has enlisted Catnic, a division of the market leading metal producer Corus, to provide 492 bespoke arch lintels for 'The Waterfront', a development of 80 apartments at James Watt Dock in Greenock, Scotland.

The development was designed to compliment the neighbouring 19th century listed sugar warehouse and the range of bespoke Catnic segmental and semi-circular arch lintels used to support the yellow brickwork was integral to achieving the architect's vision.

Furthermore, Catnic's fast and cost effective fabrication service meant that the 492 fabricated arch lintels could be designed, approved and manufactured for delivery in stages.

This was a real advantage for contractors, Ashleigh Scotland Limited, as delivery could be phased to meet the requirements of each stage in the construction programme.

John Smith, Project Manager for contractors Ashleigh Scotland Limited, said: "The quality of the products, in addition to the comprehensive technical support that Catnic provide made them a re-assuring choice for us".

"All of the lintels we used in this project were arched - which meant that from the design stage right through to installation we had a challenge on our hands".

"However, the pre and post order advice Catnic's experienced engineers provided us with was invaluable, and meant that we could bring the project in on time and to budget." Project Manager for Kenmore Homes, David Carter, explains: "Catnic's great reputation together with their first rate service made them the obvious choice".

"Catnic offer a wide range of lintels that suit a variety of openings, and if you have a non-standard requirement like ours they can create a bespoke solution to meet your needs".
