Catnic develops robust security mesh

A Catnic product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Mar 11, 2010

Catnic has introduced Securamesh to its range of premium building components, in order to improve the overall security of the building fabric.

Break-ins and theft are a constant threat to businesses with just under 300,000 non-domestic burglary offences recorded in 2008.

Access points such as doors and windows can be heavily fortified.

Improving the building fabric itself is far more difficult.

Catnic developed a solution in response to this issue.

Securamesh is a sheet of expanded steel mesh which fits neatly into walls, ceilings and roofs, offering an extra layer of security to stop intruders.

As well as protecting a building's external facade, Securamesh can be used internally to provide added security to the most at risk areas such as stock rooms, IT rooms or cashier kiosks.

The diamond mesh profile is too small for bolt cutters and too strong for hand cutters.

Securamesh is flexible in its application, being suitable for installation during initial construction or for retrofit.

The product is available in a range of gauges with additional corrosion protection if required.

Securamesh can be concealed under a variety of finishes so won't detract visually from the property.
