Housebuilding 2005 sees the release from Cavity Trays of Yeovil of three new publications.

Housebuilding 2005 sees the release from Cavity Trays of Yeovil of three new publications: The new Cavity Trays Technical Manual number 15 will be launched at the exhibition.

This new A4 five-colour manual contains up to date information on cavitrays, dpc's, flashings, membranes, closers, barriers and associated products.

It is essential reading for the house builder seeking information on the latest new trays plus easy guidance and compliance of the new Building Regulations.

The second publication from Cavity Trays is an A4 publication titled: Ventilation Products and Solutions for Roofs, Walls and Floors.

Alongside the new products available from 1st September 2005 are guidance notes and suggested installation arrangements.

This publication is aimed at the house builder.

The final publication covers the Cavity Trays investigation and analysis into Penetrating Damp Problems in UK Construction.

The previous survey (released in April 2004) covered a twenty-seven month period.

This latest report being released at Housebuilding 2005 covers a forty-three month period embracing 60 common construction details on hundreds of UK sites and is considered essential reading for all industry disciplines.

Background.

Following publication of the original report by Cavity Trays , the Building Research Establishment published Good Building Guide GBG 63 in which the BRE advised future climate changes would lead to differences in the exposure of buildings to wind-driven rain.

The results and opinions already reported by Cavity Trays were thus confirmed: more extremes in weather are being experienced at all times of the year, even mid summer.

(Example: Torrential downpour and flooding has resulted in damp penetration of properties in many U K counties.

Cavity Trays has for many years criticised building techniques and details that are 'just adequate' and leave no margin for error or unusual conditions).

The Company has always produced products that more than just meet the required standards and this is evidenced by the accompanying product performance liability protection that the Architect, Builder and Client benefit when Cavity Trays of Yeovil products are used.

No other cavity tray manufacturer has been awarded European Technical Approval and also Local Authority Building Control LABC Product Type Approval.

Cavity Trays stands alone and visitors to Housebuilding 2005 can collect a copy of the enlightening report from the Cavity Trays team at the exhibition.

Products - Gable Abutments.

On display at Housebuilding 2005 is the latest gable abutment cavitray from Cavity Trays .

The upgraded model covers cavity widths up to 150mm and is suitable for both timber frame and traditional construction.

Unlike other trays on the market for gable abutments, these have the ready-shaped lead flashings already attached within a unique bosem jaw that holds the flashing in compression and additionally uses austenitic stainless stitches.

The tests for flashing anchoring confirmed this standard to offer the best service.

The product performance liability protection accompanies these products.

Products - Undersill Trays.

The Company is launching a new range of Undersill tray.

Now available in more than twenty-eight different styles, these Type U undersill trays speed up masonry sill formation on site whether using brick, tile or stone.

The product performance liability protection accompanies these products.

New Products - Ventilation.

The new ventilation manual contains details of two new products plus product upgrades.

Further details to be released nearer the exhibition date.
