Cavity Trays threshold DPC integrity
Cavity Trays Type TST establishes DPC integrity during the build programme.
The Type TST Threshold Tray is a three-sided moulded dpc unit that is positioned on the oversite prior to the laying of the screed.
The purpose of the Type TST is to ensure damp is isolated and prevented from progressing inwardly.
A functionally proficient relationship is established linking oversite membrane and reveal, DPC's and closers.
At the same time a vertical dpc break is introduced where threshold and floor meet - a particularly vulnerable junction especially if a relatively low sill position is adopted as is common with patio doors.
The Type TST overcomes localised DPC misplacement, distortion and tradesman traffic damage that can be problematic with conventional materials at door openings.
Dampness at floor/wall intersection of door openings in cavity walls is expensive to correct and involves much upheaval.
The Type TST establishes DPC integrity during the build programme.
The Type TST Threshold Tray is manufactured by Cavity Trays of Yeovil from solid dpc petheleyne.
It is available in a number of standard sizes and also bespoke sizes, - so integrity at all openings can be ensured.
Lead-time on specials is currently six days for UK delivery addresses.
Details of this product are listed within the new Cavity Trays manual published by Cavity Trays and available now upon request from the Yeovil- based company.
