Design problem solver for feature
parapet walls
Under the parapet coping a Cavitrays Type J closer ensures dpc integrity is maintained.
A careful amalgam of product types permits structure construction in which the damp control elements work together and do not compromise or adversely affect the performance of adjacent elements Structurally the building envelope external skin is maximised as none of the three cavitrays incorporated interrupt the coursing or bonding of the structure's exterior skin

Wide Cavity Positive Closing + Fire Integrity
The closing of very wide cavities is no longer a problem with a new closer called Cavi 60 Type WCA.
At higher-level Type P parapet trays are built into one skin only.
This enhances structural stability.
The configuration is also less susceptible to parapet ratcheting, a common occurrence where over time the expansion of masonry through dampness and temperature is not fully compensated by the extent of contraction.
(This occurs where conventional DPC built through both skins acts as a slip plane - the upper masonry is thus isolated).
The ratcheting effect can over years misalign parapet masonry considerably.
Under the parapet coping a Type J closer ensures dpc integrity is maintained.
This provision also addresses penetration through or via joints in the copings that tend to crack over a period.
Where special feature dentil coursing results in the cavity width being reduced, the use of Type CD Cavity Drop Cloaks ensure there is no transmission of penetrating rainwater from the cavity-restricting dentil feature to the inside skin.
The external skin remains uninterrupted, as the Type CD Drop cloaks are not built into the external leaf but are instead cleverly incorporated within the cavity.
The problem-solving design package created by Cavity Trays is accompanied with the usual Cavitray Product Performance Liability Protection for the benefit of Architect, Builder and Client.
The Yeovil-based Company is believed to be the only specialist offering this cavitray protection as standard.
