Cavity Trays has replaced its fire rated loft hatch with a fire integrity rating of one hour with an enhanced, high performance two-hour rated version, at no additional cost.

The company has recently upgraded many of its acoustic and fire-rated caviclosers, and now offers many styles with integrity ratings of up to four hours.

It has also altered the shape of its horizontal cavity sock/closer that is manufactured with sloping upper and lower surfaces.

Unlike conventional rectangular cavity socks, the Type SAF version from Cavity Trays cannot act as a bridge for water to reach an inner skin, as the sloping surface always directs water forward.

'It promotes a more reliable build detail and overcomes many installation shortcomings', commented a spokesman from Cavity Trays.
