CanDig digs its way around the globe

A CanDig Miniature Excavators product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Dec 21, 2005

CanDig offers customers unique solutions to their digging requirements.

Jamaica, Trinidad, New York, Las Angeles, Algeria, Spain, France, England, New Zealand, Colombia.

What do these destinations have in common, other than being enviable travel destinations?.

They are only some of the locations you will find CanDig mini excavators excavating the different soils of our planet.

Started three years ago in Kamloops, B.C., CanDig has grown from a one man operation working in his carport into an international manufacturing incorporation.

We now employ six full time employees and have an additional seven international dealers working exclusively for CanDig.

We have won several awards for our innovative products, and have been recently nominated for the best CANADIAN exporting company this year.

With Canadian distribution well in hand, CanDig is now turning its attention towards its International customer base.

What makes us successful? It certainly isn't our salesmanship since we have never employed a salesman.

Could it be that our promotions and advertising is somehow superior to their nearest competitors? Not likely since it has almost eliminated all forms of advertising since customers simply call up to place orders.

Word of mouth advertising is certainly important since happy owners are selling CanDig products to their friends simply because they are saying good things about what they own.

It would be tempting to think that the success CanDig is enjoying can be directly attributed to its product development.

That is certainly part of the reason since it started with one mini excavator, and now manufactures several models with eight accessories.

The real reason for its incredible growth is attributed to something much more basic though.

CanDig recognizes that people don't buy mini excavators.

Instead, customers are looking to invest in a tool that will perform a task that will meet their individual needs at an affordable amount.

Our product range starts from under £5000.00.

Digging needs vary greatly from one person to another, and it is with good listening skills that the management of CanDig has discovered what customers really want, then tailors its manufacturing to meet those needs.

CanDig offers customers unique solutions to their digging requirements.

One customer called and asked if it was possible to bring a CanDig rental unit into his backyard to dig a fish pond.

He was skeptical since he described his yard as being difficult to get into.

In fact, it turned out that his yard was surrounded by a six foot chain link fence with no gate in the back.

There was a stone wall across the front of his property, with a narrow gate which allowed passage to the front of the house only.

There was no access to the back at all! The following is a quote taken from that same customer after CanDig had performed its duty; "They told me to give my wife $100 and send her shopping for a while".

"After she was gone, they put a couple of planks down leading up to the front of the house, then they pushed and pulled CanDig up the ramp and into the living room, through the kitchen and down the ramp into the back yard".

"After digging a six foot fish pond, they cleaned up the mini excavator and retraced its path through my home and were long gone before my wife returned from shopping".
