CEDIA has announced a new 'Introduction to the UK Custom Installation Business" course aimed at new entrants into the home electronic systems business.

CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) has announced a new 'Introduction to the UK Custom Installation Business" course aimed at new entrants into the home electronic systems business.

Taking place on 26-27 September 2006, the course is designed as the perfect starter course for newcomers to the industry, equipping them with a thorough grounding in all aspects of this fast-growing industry.

Comprising a mixture of 90 minute seminar modules and one-hour workshops, the course will offer a comprehensive overview of the custom installation business, taking in the technical, sales and marketing fundamentals of the industry.

This will include information on what and how to sell to wealthy customers, working with specifiers and developers, system design, planning and integration, managing projects and operations, maintenance and after-sales.

This new course will be hosted by CEDIA veteran Steve Moore, who has worked in the custom installation industry for 20 years.

Steve was the founding chairman of CEDIA and set up the award winning systems integration company SMC.

All teaching will be compatible with the CEDIA professional certification curriculum and will form a foundation that will allow delegates to develop and progress within the CEDIA education programme.

The course takes place at an in-house training facility at CEDIA's Head Office in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.

The all-inclusive delegate price for the event of £600 + VAT covers all training, course materials, meals, refreshments and one night hotel accommodation.

For further details on this course, CEDIA's extensive education programme and to make a booking online, visit the events section on the website.
