Celotex Achieves Unique LPCB Certification

A Celotex product story

Celotex double-RTM LG3 Lining Grade, high performance insulation lining board, has passed the exacting Loss Prevention Certification Board LPS1181 reaction to fire test.

Celotex double-RTM LG3 Lining Grade, the latest generation of the company's high performance insulation lining board, has passed the exacting Loss Prevention Certification Board LPS1181 reaction to fire test.

Kind to the environment with zero ozone depletion potential (Zero ODP), LG3 continues a Celotex tradition of successful LCPB testing over the past 25 years.

It remains the only lining panel to be included in the LPCB's List of Approved Fire and Security Products and Services (The Red Book).

This is a pre-requisite for insurers and specifiers when selecting internal lining products.

Following independent Single Burning Item (SBI) testing to BS EN 13823;2002, Celotex double-RT LG3 has also achieved Euroclass B of the harmonised European standard BS EN 13501-1:2002 "Fire classification of construction products and building elements".

The product is unique in being exposed directly to the flame during fire testing.

This contrasts with many other materials that are only approved as part of a built-up roofing and cladding system.

The elimination of an additional protective layer enables architects and specifiers to maximise internal space, due to Celotex double-RTM LG3's lightness and slim profile.

Its suitability for above and below purlin installation makes it ideal for use in both new and refurbishment applications, where Euroclass B fire performance is required.

Celotex double-RT LG3 provides very good thermal insulation levels.

It also features a textured, white painted, aluminium facer, for an attractive and durable surface within the building when installed above or below purlins.

LG3 is available in a range of thicknesses to meet most design requirements (initially 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90mm).

The company is supporting the product launch with three new brochures; two specifically detail installation above or below purlins.

A third document outlines the issues surrounding the importance of fire testing and product marking for insulation materials.
