Celotex Declares Environmental
Credentials

Insulation board manufacturer Celotex Ltd has just published an Environmental Information Sheet - demonstrating its commitment to caring for the environment.

Celotex is fully behind the UK Government's target of reducing CO2 emissions by 60% by 2050 In addition, the company has always supported the aims of the Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer and the Kyoto Protocol, in which the developed nations agreed to limit their greenhouse gas emissions, relative to the levels emitted in 1990

The Environmental Information Sheet begins by outlining Celotex' environmental policy.

This encompasses all aspects of its day-to-day operations, product development and commercial activities.

Celotex says that, as a producer of energy saving materials, it aims to minimise impact on the environment, whilst adhering to the principles of sustainable development.

Celotex' production process is examined from an environmental standpoint.

The document explains how the company's polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam board manufacturing methods are highly efficient in terms of energy use and how these products make a worthwhile long-term contribution to lowering the use of fossil fuels.

Issues affecting life-cycle performance of Celotex products are included.

Special emphasis is placed on their zero ozone depletion characteristics and the role of thermal insulation in reducing global warming.

Recycling and packaging methods and procedures are also put under the microscope.

The document concludes with a look at how Celotex commissioned the Building Research Establishment (BRE) to carry out an assessment of the most environmentally friendly development route for the Celotex tuff-RTM Zero product range.

Copies of the Environmental Information Sheet are now available from Celotex or via their website. Request a free brochure from Celotex ...
