Celotex fire resistant PIR insulation boards

A Celotex product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 15, 2008

Using new technology, Celotex has achieved complete Class O fire performance compliance with its two newest insulation boards.

The most cost effective, thermally efficient, rigid insulation boards, FR4000 and CG4000, offer Class O fire performance throughout the entire product - not just the foam core, unlike competitor products.

The PIR boards enable builders to achieve premium fire performance across all applications that have demanding requirements, such as hospitals and schools.

Both FR4000 and CG4000 boards comprise a rigid polyisocyanurate foam core with low emissivity textured aluminium foil facers that allow for greater thermal performance.

As a result, some applications may require up to 5mm less product, saving space and cost.

With a consistent Lambda value throughout the entire product range, FR4000 and CG4000 provide a straightforward specification platform.

Specifically targeted at pitched roof and wall applications, FR4000 is available in a number of thicknesses ranging from 25 - 90mm, and features a semi decorative finish.

CG4000 is suitable for partial fill cavity wall applications and is available in 40 - 80mm thicknesses and in 1200mm x 450mm board sizes.

"Some projects and applications require enhanced fire performance characteristics, so we are delighted to now be in a position to address this need," says Richard Pemberton, Chief Executive of Celotex.

"Of course, our standard insulation boards are still perfectly suitable for use where fire performance hasn't been specified as critical to a project's success".

"With the addition of these Class O products to our range, we feel our offering is amongst the best available".
