Celotex insulation is chosen again for Midas Homes

A Celotex product story

High performance insulation from Celotex has been specified by Midas Homes which was looking to provide energy efficiency as part of its commitment to environmental management.

Building a new development called The Shires in Yeovil, Midas Homes selected the Celotex insulation as it had proved popular on a number of its other developments.

The construction was completed by Midas Homes' own construction unit.

Part of Galliford Try Homes, the company specialises in building and selling its own developments.

It often specifies Celotex for its thermal performance and workability and selected 50mm Celotex CW3000 for use in the cavity walling of The Shires' houses.

The polyisocyanurate (PIR) boards outperform many other materials, including modern mineral wools.

Providing excellent thermal insulation levels per mm, Celotex CW3000 minimises cavity thickness while ensuring that the homes of The Shires had effective thermal envelopes.

Featuring independently tested low emissivity foil facers, Celotex CW3000 gives improved insulation within cavity air spaces.

Combined with the low thermal conductivity of the PIR foam boards, this proves highly effective at keeping the cold out and the warmth in, and provides an air and moisture barrier in cavities.

Celotex's CW3000 boards are an established and proven means of minimising heating needs, reducing the UK's carbon footprint, 60 per cent of which is a direct result of the built environment.

The PIR insulation is A+ rated when compared to the BRE Green Guide 2008, and is a tested and highly reliable means of reducing heating costs and ensuring energy efficiency in line with the construction industry's move towards sustainability.

Celotex CW3000 boards also have a low Global Warming Potential and zero Ozone Depletion Potential.

Though hardwearing, Celotex is lightweight and can be easily cut to requirements on site with a saw.

The low emissivity of the boards offer dimensional stability and are held in place with wall ties and clips.

CW3000 insulation boards are frequently used in a range of construction projects across the country.

Celotex offers a complete range of PIR insulation solutions that includes the FR4000 board which features Class O fire performance as well as thermal and sustainable qualities.
