CEMEX are enjoying a boom in sales for their Russell concrete roof tiles in the Northampton area.
Among the investments were two new kiln burners which are more efficient and have helped reduce emissions, and new filters, which at one plant have reduced dust by more than 80 per cent.

The challenge will be to further improve on this performance in 2008, and extend the high standards to the new blended cement facility at Tilbury in Essex, which is due to come on stream later this year, and will increase CEMEX's UK cement capacity by 20 per cent.
