Camwatch needs help to keep up with demand
Overwhelming success of Camwatch's rapid deployment CCTV solution has accelerated the company's decision to bring on-board specialist manufacturer, AET.
The contract award increases Camwatch's production capacity five-fold! The CamwatchTOWERTM (patent pending) is a rugged, portable assembly that provides everything necessary to establish CCTV monitoring on sites with little or no traditional infrastructure.
Requiring only power, the system takes less than two hours to deploy.
The solution was launched at SED2007, a specialist construction show, back in May, and Camwatch can already count six of the UK's top ten construction companies as customers.
"The phones just haven't stopped ringing", says Camwatch's Managing Director, Phil Bunting.
"It's not simply the CamwatchTOWERTM that is generating the interest, it's our 'all inclusive' rental package".
Although CamwatchTOWERs are available to buy, the vast majority of clients are opting for a special rental option, priced 'per site' regardless of the number of TOWERs deployed.
The offer includes delivery/collection, installation, maintenance, monitoring to BS8418 and video transmission charges over 3G wireless, and typically works out less than half the cost of a traditional security guard.
There are no minimum hire periods, and Camwatch engineers will even go out to site at no extra charge to re-position TOWERs as building work means new blind spots are created.
The rapid rise in demand has put inevitable strains on the company's manufacturing arrangements, so newly appointed Operations Director, Dr Malcolm White, has been looking at options to increase supply.
Following a demanding and rigorous tendering process, he has awarded a contract to engineering and fabrication company, Advanced Engineering Techniques Limited.
"The tender process has helped us greatly", explains Dr White.
"Not only have we multiplied our production capacity, we have taken the opportunity to incorporate several enhancements, some of which were suggested by the team at AET.
The TOWERs are now even easier to manoeuvre onto site due to the upgraded trolley mechanism, and the enlarged cabinet gives us more room for extra features".
David Birch, AET's Managing Director, is equally enthusiastic.
"Camwatch are just the sort of successful, expanding company with which we like to partner".
"AET has considerable expertise in rapid proto-type manufacture, and with our flexible approach to our customers needs, we were able to offer manufacturing and fabrication solutions to provide a complete product exceeding Camwatch's expectations".
"In short we were able to take away their production headaches and allow them to focus 100% on growing their business" .
Malcolm White has the last word, "Now that we have a plentiful supply of TOWERs, I am looking at the next bottleneck, finding enough installation engineers to get them into the field! I think I might need some more help", he suggests.
