Coram Showers continue to drive forward bathroom innovation by demonstrating how a traditional bathroom can be transformed into a contemporary shower room with ease.

Using wet room panels from the Acora Continental Collection, it is possible to create a luxurious 'wet area' or 'wet floor shower', which provides a highly stylish yet cost-effective alternative to the complete wet room Compared with a full wet room, which requires the entire bathroom floor to be waterproofed, the wet area is produced by installing a proprietary 'shower former' to create the base of the showering space

Factory manufactured, formers are supplied ready-made with a waste outlet and are sloped to ensure water can drain away.

As the shower former is designed to sit in the footprint previously occupied by a bath - and make use of existing plumbing - it enables fast and efficient installation and eliminates the need to tank or waterproof the whole bathroom floor.

Once the former is slotted into the existing floorboards, it is then tiled and installed with a configuration of Acora Continental Wet Room Panels.

This protects the rest of the room from water spray and adds an element of minimalist design to the bathroom.

By allowing the integration of luxury showering space without dramatically re-modelling the bathroom's layout and construction, the combination of Acora Continental Wet Room Panels and a shower former, provides an option that is more economical and simpler to fit than a full wet room.

"The wet area is an ideal solution for the UK market", explained Peter Dimeloe, managing director of Coram Showers.

"Although the demand for wet rooms has increased significantly in recent years, there are still some consumers who are not ready to make the leap to a full wet room, and this is where the wet area comes into its own.

"By enabling the consumer to benefit from luxury and modern design of a contemporary showering space, without the commitment, cost and upheaval that is associated with creating a complete wet room, the wet area is quickly emerging as the next big thing in the bathroom sector." Coram's Acora Continental Wet Room Panels are individually produced on a bespoke basis to provide an extensive choice of size and panel configurations for the consumer.

Alongside the range's flexibility and understated styling, Acora Continental Wet Room Panels have been developed to offer easier, faster fitting for the installer and a more durable, easy clean finish for the end-user.
