Coram selected by UK's biggest housebuilder
Coram Showers has secured a two-year contract with Taylor Wimpey, which will see the company's Coratech showertrays installed in all of the housebuilder's new build properties throughout the UK.
Selected for their guaranteed watertightness and ease of installation, Coram's Coratech showertrays will enable the developer to maintain an exceptional standard of specification and meet the strict timescales of build programmes.
With effective and efficient installation a key requirement for Taylor Wimpey, the housebuilder looked to specify a showertray that makes fitting as straightforward as possible.
Developed to fulfil the complex and specific requirements of the British bathroom and, crucially, the UK installer, Coram's Coratech showertrays include innovative design features that facilitate precise, watertight installation.
Factory fitted legs, for instance, allow the installer to simply screw in the feet and adjust by hand.
Similarly, cleverly angled screw holes in the feet provide easy access with the drill to secure the tray to the floor and clip-on rigid side panels negate the need for sealant to achieve an accurate fit.
Together, these design elements reduce installation to just 20 minutes.
"Where Coram's Coratech showertrays excel is their ability to ensure faultless installation, every time," said Nick Dyke, divisional head of procurement at Taylor Wimpey.
"Details such as the factory fitted feet and angled screw holes make a real difference on-site and because of this, our move to specify Coram's showertrays across the board has been well received by our partner contractors.
"The high quality design and durability of the showertrays also means Taylor Wimpey can ensure that it is providing housebuyers with first-class product that will stand the test of time".
In addition to innovative installation features, Coram showertrays are constructed using Coratech, a unique formulation of resin that produces a range of designs, which have all the strength, but half the weight of other resin-based trays.
Using this revolutionary resin, even the largest 1200mm x 800mm Coratech showertray weighs under 25 kilograms - the safe lifting limit for one person as recommended by the Health and Safety Executive.
Consequently, lifting and transporting the showertray is much easier, and installation only requires one person.
Coratech showertrays are also manufactured for complete watertight operation.
Confident in the performance of the range, Coram offers a 'Watertight Lifetime Guarantee' with each showertray, providing it is installed with a Premier or Optima enclosure.
Peter Dimeloe, managing director of Coram Showers, added: "Coram's range of high performance showering solutions, including the Coratech showertray, have been specially designed to eradicate leaks and enable straightforward fitting.
As a result, an increasing number of housebuilders across the UK are specifying Coram due to its ability to deliver high quality products that are built to last.
