Chalcroft Construction, leading the industry in the field of cold storage projects, is set to complete the GBP2.8m expansion of a factory that makes wide range of dips and spreads.
In 2006, it completed some GBP15m worth of projects, from salad preparation facilities to a dips and spreads factory and from a distribution centre to a high-care packing and dispatch warehouse.
Chalcroft's unique approach to cold storage - insulating buildings from the outside with a combination of insulation and weatherproofing materials - means food companies are delivered state-of-the-art facilities in double-quick time.
Ed Getley, who heads up Chalcroft's Food Projects Division, says: "We take pride in being able to deliver a quick turnaround on projects while not cutting corners on quality.
"We have an ethos of partnership working and we make sure every customer has a single point of contact.
We take complete responsibility for projects and provide a bespoke design and build service to every client.
This gives them peace of mind that their project is in safe hands".
He added: "We utilise our own highly-skilled and experienced workforce and draw on a network of trusted sub-contractors and advisors for specialist advice or increased capacity according to the requirements of the job".
Some of the projects completed in 2006 include:.
* An GBP8m distribution centre, including a single-chamber cold store, for Innovate Logistics, near Newark, Nottinghamshire.
* An extension to a high-care packing and dispatch area for Wingland Foods at Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire.
* High-care production space, with a state-of-the-art ammonia refrigeration plant at Welland Fresh Foods, Spalding, Lincolnshire.
* Turning a curtain factory into a GBP4.2m salad factory for Hazeldene Foods in Wigan.
* Expanding a dips and spreads factory in Ebbw Vale, south Wales, for Zorba Foods with extra food production facilities and more office space.
