Healthy outlook for new centre
Chalcroft Construction, who specialise in high-specification new builds and refurbishment, has completed the site boundary of the new Carole Brown Health Centre.
With this in mind, the company bought an empty unit next to its premises on the Rassau Industrial Estate, with the aim of extending food production facilities and creating extra office space.
The company chose Chalcroft Construction, which has a dedicated Food Projects Division, to carry out the necessary works, with the unit first being extended.
This gave the company a new facility in excess of 28,000 sq ft.

Store solutions served up on a plate
Tailor-made solutions are making Chalcroft Food Projects the first choice for food production companies across the UK when expanding and improving facilities.
The fit-out included new mezzanine floors, fully refrigerated high and low-risk production facilities, cold chamber, blast chillers and a new offices and amenities area.
The unit was finished internally with Kingspan white walling to walls and ceilings and a resin floor finish.
Around 6,500-7,000 sq metres of panelling was installed over a three-month period.
The main reason for specifying PCE panels were structural, thermal and fire performance, hygiene (fibre free), properties and ease of installation.
However, the fit-out did present some issues for Chalcroft, who worked on the project in association with David Trundley Design Services, based near Chalcroft's King's Lynn offices.
David Trundley commented: "Because of several different roof heights, it is one of the most awkward projects we have worked on.
"Essentially, it was a bit like squeezing a two-storey building into a one-and-three-quarter building.
It took a lot of coordination.
"The site is also in a difficult position, being 1,300 ft above sea level.
In the winter there was bitter weather and in the summer there were scorching hot days.
"But the project has been carried out successfully.
Chalcroft is a very pro-active company that works as a team - which is vital when you have to work together to get the job done." Chalcroft, whose dedicated Food Projects Division is headed up by Ed Getley, prides itself on its ethos of partnership working and the fact that its customers have a single point of contact for their project.
Chalcroft can utilise its own highly-skilled and experienced workforce, although it does have a network of trusted sub-contractors and advisors who can be called upon.
Chalcroft takes complete responsibility for projects and can normally design and build within a client's expectations.
It's this quick turnaround - coupled with its unique method of insulating cold storage centres from the outside (combining insulation with weatherproofing materials) - that sets Chalcroft apart from its competitors.
