Chemique Adhesives and Sealants , pioneers in the development of solvent free adhesives for the furniture industry announce re-launch of Aquabond.

Aquabond is a spray able, solvent free, two component water-based system Available for manual or automatic spray application, Aquabond is based on high solids formulations offering immediate bonding and handling without forced drying equipment, allowing bonded products to be moved immediately

Not only does the adhesive offer excellent stability, it can be used on light coloured materials without bleeding through and has high initial tack but also re-positional qualities to allow for adjustments after the substrates are put together.

Increasing legislation for companies to decrease their VOC emissions over the last few years has meant that Chemique Adhesives and Sealants has needed to dedicate more time into the research and development of new and innovative products.

With no VOC emissions, Aquabond poses health and safety advantages for the operatives.

Widely used in a variety of industries, the two-component water-based system already works well for coach trimming, car seating, foam converters, office seating, boats, instrument cases and domestic furniture.

"Chemique has been supplying its wide range of high performance adhesives to a diverse range of industries including that of the furniture industry, that require specialised products for a long time," said John Bellerby, Chemique, Technical Director.

"We have invested continuous experience and dedication into developing new and quality adhesives, so that we are able to offer those working in the furniture industry the latest in adhesive solutions".

John Bellerby continues: "The majority of furniture manufacturers used to use solvent based adhesives which caused health and safety concerns with fumes and fire risks, however since environmental issues have become top of the agenda, water-based products such as Aquabond, have reduced these hazards and sales have seen a significant increase.".
