CitectFacilities in control at The
Kremlin

CitectFacilities reduces costs and helps preserve Russia's historical monuments.

CitectFacilities is providing the Kremlin with a reliable, easy to use environmental monitoring and control system that provides visualisation of several key buildings on the site to a central operating station The system has improved energy management and reduced the maintenance load on operators, resulting in substantial cost savings

CitectFacilities is helping the Kremlin conserve its architectural and historical Russian treasures.

Chief Engineer of the Kremlin Museum, Igor Sergeev, commented: "CitectFacilities was chosen to provide the climate control system for the Uspenskaya Church bell tower, Ivan the Great Church, and the museum office due to its open architecture and reliability".

"It was important for us to install a system with the ability to expand at a later stage and CitectFacilities provides the opportunity for integrating other monitoring and control systems".

RTSoft, Citect's distributor for Russia and Belarus implemented the CitectFacilities system.

The project was divided into two functional subsystems: the air-conditioning control system of the exhibition hall in the Uspenskaya church bell tower; and the heating control system of the Uspenskaya church bell, Ivan the Great Church and museum office buildings.

CitectFacilities was the ideal choice to provide an integrated climate control solution across these, buildings.

The open architecture, its powerful features and easy-to-use configuration tools, enabled RTSoft to quickly develop and deploy the system.

RTSoft were able to replace the Kremlin's local control systems with a single, high quality environmental monitoring and control system that allows visualisation of all sites to a central control room operator.

The CitectFacilities system includes operator stations in a control room located in the Blagoveschenskaya cathedral building.

It provides: display of the two functional subsystems; monitoring of the air conditioning unit condition and control system parameters (temperature and humidity); alarm and event displays; real-time and historical trending; alarms handling; logging of operator actions and security.

Crucial to the success of the system was the ability of CitectFacilities to provide logging of the data to history files and the trending the key parameters.

These include: outlet water temperature in the heating system; temperature of the air-conditioning; temperature and humidity in the exhibition hall; temperatures in the Uspenskaya church bell tower, Ivan the Great Church and the museum office; and target and limit values.
