In the last ten years the increased risk and frequency of major flooding events in the UK has presented significant challenges for the construction industry.
The ODPM's Planning Policy Guidance Note (PPG25) Development And Flood Risk explains how flood risk should be considered at all stages of the planning and development process to reduce the future damage to property and loss of life CIRIA's new project Development and flood risk - guidance for the construction industry will provide advice for the construction industry on working with PPG25 by developing guidance on how and why flood risk from rivers, coast and groundwater should be assessed in land use planning
