CIRIA's Local Authority Contaminated
Land Network

CIRIA is pleased to announce a large increase in the number of local authorities subscribing to its Local Authority Contaminated Land network (LACL).

LACL was launched in summer 2002 to help local authorities deal with new duties and responsibilities as regulators under part IIA of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 Ten new members have joined in the last month alone

Members are invited to attend training workshops free of charge, receive a directory of members of the network, are sent a newsletter three times a year and are entitled to one free copy of a CIRIA publication.

Other benefits of membership, include the opportunity to meet consultants dealing with contaminated land, the chance to network and share experience and help for contaminated land officers wishing to implement cost-effective best practice.

Network manager, Joanne Kwan said, "I am pleased to welcome ten new members to LACL.

This is a truly exciting time for the network. Request a free brochure from CIRIA ...

The vast increase in member numbers will bring to the group a wider breadth of experience and knowledge, which will enhance the value of membership for all participants in the programme.".
