Plans to widen motorways and make improvements to the national railway networks suggests that the use soil nailing techniques could expand rapidly.
Planning and evaluating SUDS (one of a series of CIRIA and Sustainable Drainage Associates SUDS training events) will take place on 16 February 2006 in Loughborough.
Delegates will gain an understanding of how work with the planning system to facilitate the general SUDS planning process, discuss the information requirements for planning and specifying SUDS schemes - including how to respond to Planning Policy Guidance (PPG) 25: Development and Flood Risk, develop design criteria for a site, and critically appraise designs from consultants and practitioners.
This module will be of particular interest to local authorities that are beginning to encourage and specify SUDS and those developers that wish to respond in a proactive fashion.
Local authorities and SMEs are entitled to a discounted registration fee.
The workshop module is fully accredited for CIWEM and Construction CPD schemes and includes guest presentations from planners with experience of SUDS.
