The 28th meeting of the Standing Conference on Stormwater Control, SUDS at the Manor Park, Sheffield (delivered by CIRIA in partnership with Professor Chris Pratt - founder of the Standing Conference - and EPG Clear) will examine these challenges and showcase how these have been overcome in a residential development in Sheffield.
Engaging presentations, discussions and a site visit will explore the roles, responsibilities and interactions of the client, practitioner, contractor and community in successfully delivering SUDS that overcome the potential technical and managerial challenges in implementing SUDS in a socially deprived inner city area.
Presentations will outline the development of design criteria and philosophy for SUDS; the construction and management of SUDS; innovative community engagement and the intricacies of managing relationships in a multi disciplinary team.
The conference concludes with a guided tour of the impressive Manor Park SUDS scheme.
The Standing Conferences on Stormwater Control have been running since 1990 and focus on practitioner experiences in implementing SUDS and provide an ideal opportunity for those involved to network, share experiences and see SUDS in action.
The conference will take place on 4 May 2006 at The Centre in the Park, Norfolk Heritage Park, Sheffield.
