CIRIA Annual Contaminated Land Conference
Minimising risks, maximising rewards - CIRIA's annual contaminated land conference is to be held on 14th October 2004 in London.
Building for 2012 and beyond, the theme this year for CIRIA's annual contaminated land conference, will review how government contaminated land policy has affected house building and the property industry, the lessons learnt from Part IIA regimes, and current practice in risk management and risk communication.
The conference will in particular demonstrate how these could affect the way that the UK delivers major international sporting events and other national large-scale re-development projects.
It will also provide a forum to debate issues including risk assessment, ways to deal with sites with special contaminants (for example those hazard ground gases present), hazards and remediation strategies for sites that are designated for green spaces and parks.
Tricia Henton, Director of Environmental Protection, Environment Agency will be delivering the conference keynote speech.
CIRIA's annual contaminated land conference will take place at the Millennium Hotel Mayfair, Grosvenor Square, London on 8 November 2006.
