Designing SUDS to tackle floods

An extra date as been added to CIRIA's SUDS training series (in partnership with Sustainable Drainage Associates) after workshops at the beginning of 2007 became fully-subscribed.

The additional event, Designing SUDS will take place on 10-11 July 2007 in London The two-day training event will introduce basic design information to reinforce current SUDS guidance and regulatory framework

The first day of the module will cover elementary design principles and the second day will develop these concepts to an advanced level and develop an outline drainage proposal.

The event will also include a case-study of the scheme installed at Matchborough First School, which manages overland flows and has provided the local community with educational and amenity benefits.

Following the training delegates should be able to understand design criteria and application to SUDS, design robust schemes that meet design criteria and competently develop outline and detailed drainage designs.

The events will be led by nationally recognised practitioners that have experience of implementing SUDS in a range of developments.

This event is fully accredited for CIWEM, the ICE, CIOB RICS, CIBSE and IstructE CPD schemes.

Discounted rates are available for local authorities and SMEs and all those registering for the course will be entitled to choose a free guidance publication from a list of available CIRIA SUDS guidance.
