Buildings that promote better health and
wellbeing

CIEF workshop, 'Designing the way to improved health and wellbeing', will provide insight into the link between improved social responsibility and better performance in house design.

Designing buildings that promote better health and wellbeing Construction clients and companies are increasingly acknowledging the link between improved social responsibility and better performance

Significant business opportunities may also exist for those taking a more socially responsible approach, as planning and community objectives are beginning to place greater emphasis on educational or public health benefits.

CIRIA's sustainability network, the Construction Industry Environmental Forum's (CIEF) workshop, 'Designing the way to improved health and wellbeing' will provide insight into the link between improved social responsibility and better performance; an appreciation of the wider objectives such as well-being and public health benefits; and present examples from real-life case studies.

Chaired by Martin Hunt, Head of Built Environment at Forum for the Future, the workshop programme includes presentations from English Partnerships, Princes Foundation and Edward Cullinan Architects, and concludes with a discussion and Q and A session.

The event, in association with Forum for the Future and Sustainable Development Foundation, will take place on 5 December 2007 in London.

Registration costs GBP80 + VAT.

Attendance is free for CIEF and CIRIA members. Request a free brochure from CIRIA ...
