Training for sustainable drainage goes
nation-wide

Following a successful SUDS training programme, CIRIA (in partnership with Sustainable Drainage Associates) has added a number of new training venues around the UK and Ireland for 2008.

Awareness of Sustainable drainage systems (SUDS) by practitioners and their implementation in developments continues to increase steadily Practical experience has led to a re-definition of best practice and a greater understanding of basic principles

It is important that practitioners not only have access to the best possible information, but also have the confidence to implement guidance and use SUDS within developments.

Following a successful SUDS training programme in 2006 and 2007, CIRIA (in partnership with Sustainable Drainage Associates) has added a number of new training venues around the UK and Ireland for 2008.

Training is now available in London, Bristol, Birmingham, Dublin, Cork and Scotland.

There are four SUDS training modules: Introduction to SUDS; Designing SUDS; Planning and evaluating SUDS; and Maintenance and adoption of SUDS.

The modules are designed for all levels of knowledge from professionals new to SUDS through to professionals who have extensive knowledge and experience of sustainable drainage concepts.

The training programme will enable practitioners to efficiently plan, design, construct and manage SUDS schemes within the relevant legal and regulatory framework.

These events are lead by nationally recognised practitioners that have experience of implementing SUDS in a range of developments.

Interactive course guidance will use a variety of learning styles to engage and inspire delegates and the modules will include a number of demonstrative group exercises and case studies.

Delegates may attend individual modules or a combination.

Each is fully accredited for CIWEM and construction CPD schemes.
