The Coopers' International Distributors Conference held at the newly extended Langstone Hotel close to the Company's' headquarters, proved to be a great success.

The Coopers' International Distributors Conference held between 21-23 June at the newly extended Langstone Hotel close to the Company's' headquarters, proved to be a great success.

The hotel was selected not only for its close proximity to the Coopers' site, but it also contains some of the finest conference facilities on the south coast.

The conference was attended by distributors from all over the world including: Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Turkey and the UAE.

After a gala dinner at the hotel on the evening of arrival, the first day began with a welcome by Managing Director, Andrew Cooper, followed by an introduction by Export Sales Director, Chuck Lewis.

These initial briefings clearly outlined what each delegate could expect to gain from attending the conference.

Over the three-day duration of the event, Coopers' distributors were given presentations covering every aspect of the Company's export strategy and objectives.

These presentations included product updates, technical developments, support and maintenance and marketing.

The latest drive and control systems from Coopers, including VarioSpeed 6, plus the next generation of VarioSpeed systems for both SmokeStop and FireMaster product ranges were formally launched at the conference.

During the conference, time was set aside for questions and answers forums, and for delegates to discuss key issues between themselves and share their experiences in international markets.

Several internationally recognised keynote speakers delivered presentations on a range of topics comprising EN12101 series, CE marking and certification, fire engineering principals and correct building design and application.

The programme came to an end at lunchtime on the final day when distributors were able to relax during a sightseeing tour that included many of the places of interest in the old City of Portsmouth.

The new Spinnaker Tower situated at the entrance to the harbour and the Naval Dockyard with its famous HMS Victory and HMS Warrior were all part of the tour.

The benefits of holding an international event of this kind are immediately beginning to become clear by the numerous requests from delegates for a similar conference to be held next year, and initial plans are already being formulated.

Coopers has been providing complete smoke, heat and exhaust ventilation (SHEVS) systems for major building projects in over 30 countries around the world for more than 15 years.

The Company fully understands that maintaining good lines of communications between its distribution network is the key to ensuring continued expansion into new export markets.
