Set amid six acres of beautiful waterfront gardens with its highly distinctive gold reflective curtain walling system, the casino is major attraction to visitors from across the world.

Providing fire protection to the unusual curved frontage of the building proved to be major challenge to the architects, who brought in Coopers to solve the problem.

The architectural team demanded a high level of fire resistance and integrity to the curved entrance, and traditional fire shutters were too bulky and would seriously detract from the design of the structure.

The Coopers, solution was to install a flexible, fire-rated barrier.

The final design incorporated two barriers overlapped at a single mitred position which removed the need for a traditional side containment channel.

In the event of a fire, the two individual but overlapped barriers link together and deploy as one unit.

The unique Coopers' design concept was verified by independent fire consultants commissioned to provide an engineering assessment of the system.
