Coopers is once again playing a key role in the further commercial development of the Middle East.
The Company has been selected to supply the fire and smoke containment systems for what will be the world's largest shopping centre - to be constructed in Dubai.
According to the developers, the completed structure will be in excess of 1,110,000 square metres, which represents a total area of around 50 full size football pitches.
Coopers' fire and smoke barriers will provide protection to more than 830,000 square metres of shopping retail space which will be spread over 10 to 15 malls, divided into approximately 1000 individual stores.
When completed the complex it will contain the world's tallest building, the .
When sourcing the fire and smoke containment system, the project's architects, D P Architects in Singapore, had to be confident that the selected supplier had the technical expertise and the manufacturing capability to guarantee an effective solution, and the flexibility to work to a strict schedule.
Manufacturing and installing fire and smoke barriers to cover huge areas is a market sector in which Coopers has already gained an excellent track record.
The Company continues to maintain its reputation in the region by continually supplying such vast buildings of international recognition.
Our current project list encompasses Dubai International Airport (the world's largest smoke containment project to date), Dubai Festival City (the world's largest retail park), Mall of the Emirates, Dubai International Finance Centre and Dubai Community Centre.
This new construction has pushed the boundaries of size even further, with smoke barriers now being measured in kilometers.
To keep pace with the quest of developers to build bigger and better, Coopers continues to produce new fire and smoke containment technologies that will ensure the safety of the millions of visitors who are already pouring in to one of the Word's fastest growing economies.
