Planning and building healthy communities
Second CIWEM conference will explore how we design, develop and nurture healthier communities.
is the subject of the CIWEM conference 26th April 2007, at The Lakeside Centre, Conference Aston, Birmingham.
Planning and building healthy and sustainable new communities is at the heart of current concerns in land use planning and development.
Health and wellbeing are increasingly seen as part of the wider sustainability agenda by planners, politicians, environmental professionals and public health practitioners.
This is the second CIWEM conference on the theme of health and planning.
It is a follow-up to the highly successful conference on 'The Role of Health Impact Assessments in Land Use Planning' in June 2005.
This conference aims to bring together all these important issues and the professionals working on them - land use planning, land development, urban regeneration, sustainability, pollution control and public health - to share experiences, explore the emerging ideas and help shape how we design, develop and nurture healthier communities.
