Journal of Flood Risk Management: call for papers

CIWEM's new journal with Wiley-Blackwell, entitled 'Journal of Flood Risk Management' is open for paper submissions.

Journal of Flood Risk Management - Launching 2008.

This online-only global journal will provide an international platform for knowledge and information sharing in all areas relating to flood risk management.

Its explicit aim is to disseminate ideas across the range of disciplines where flood related research is carried out and provide content ranging from leading edge academic papers to applied content with the practitioner in mind.

Examples of areas covered include:.

Hydrology.

Coastal, Storm and Surge flooding.

Climate Change.

Modelling.

Infrastructure Management.

Flood Event Management and Disaster Recovery.

Flood Forecasting/Warning.

Land Use Management/Spatial Planning.

Policy and Legislation.

Uncertainty Analysis and Risk.

Environment (Geomorphology, Sediments, Habitat).

Health and Social Aspects of Flooding.

Economics and Risk.

The journal is supported by Arup, MWH and Royal Haskoning and has already attracted a high level of interest from a number of different communities.

David Balmforth, Editor-in-Chief will lead an international Editorial Team including, Paul Samuels, HR Wallingford , Jim Hall, University of Newcastle, Jochen Schanze, Leibniz Institute, Germany and Kaoru Takara, DPRI, Kyoto University, Japan.

All submissions will be subject to rigorous peer review, ensuring that only the highest quality papers are published.

Submissions and reviews are completed online using Manuscript Central which can be found at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jfrm.

In addition to this, reviewers with suitable expertise in the subject area of flood risk management are currently being recruited.

Reviewers peer-review technical papers to determine their suitability for publication and advise on any necessary amendments or revisions ensuring that papers are credible and accurate.

This is a great opportunity to be involved in the work of the institution and be the first to read exciting new research.
