LANTAC Approve New Clark-Drain Access
Covers

In response to important changes to Approved Document H of the Building Regulations, Clark-Drain has introduced a new range of fully compliant drainage access covers.

They are the first drainage products to receive LANTAC (Local Authority National Type Approval Confederation) approval By installing these products, contractors will be free from the threat of any future product liability claims

The changes to the Building Regulations are primarily designed to ensure greater safety and prevent accidents with drainage access covers.

There are many recorded instances of children being hurt when tampering with traditional galvanized covers, using them as mini-trampolines and even trying to lift them up.

The new Clarks 452 and 451 ranges of modern, dual locking, lightweight, thermo-plastic (polypropylene) covers and frames address all these issues.

They have a driveway rating in excess of 35kN loading and pedestrian area rating of 15kN.

They have LANTAC Type-Approval, the Building Control Officer's guarantee that the product is fit for purpose.

The 452 is a round cover and the 451 is square.

They are securely fitted to the frame beneath with large slotted screw heads as part of a captive screw locking system.

The screws can be cleared of ground-in easily when the covers need to be lifted for inspection or maintenance.

The large screw head also provides a large bearing area for the screwdriver, making access easier compared with trying to loosen rusted- in screws and nuts used in cast iron covers.

There is also a frame to chamber locking system and the frame of the cover has been designed to fit snugly over the chamber beneath.

The Clarks 452 and 451 ranges suit all major PPIC access chambers and all units are fully interchangeable.

They have no scrap value, deterring possible theft.
