Clark-Drain, formerly known as Clarksteel, has been manufacturing access covers and frames for the building, construction and utilities markets for over 35 years.

THIS IS CLARK-DRAIN Clark-Drain, formerly known as Clarksteel, has been manufacturing access covers and frames for the building, construction and utilities markets for over 35 years The company was one of the first to develop steel covers and frames which led to major contracts with the MOD, designing special high security access covers for worldwide use

The company has retained a market leading position as a result of continuous high levels of investment in product development and innovative solutions.

Notable examples from the recent past include the development with Kensington Borough Council in the 1990s of the Aquaknight recessed access cover to replace black bitumen manhole covers.

In 2000 the company worked closely with the NHBC and LABC (Local Authority Building Control) to help stop the use of access covers 'not fit for purpose' within new build housing projects.

By 2002 this co-operation resulted in changes to the Building Regulations Document H to ensure that all lightweight access covers be secured by locking screws to prevent unauthorised access - a major safety breakthrough in the housebuilding sector.

Today the company manufactures more than 70% of all PPIC access covers and frames.

The use of plastic, with its inherent advantages, was extended by the company into more of its product ranges including popular domestic surface water drainage systems.

This has culminated in 2004 with today's launch of the new Linear Range.

Clark-Drain today in the UK has close working relationships with most of the key distribution channels including the major merchant chains, sheds and other distributors.

It also provides its products to major housebuilders as well as block paving companies, utilities, local authorities and the MOD amongst others.

From its HQ near Yaxley near Peterborough, the company sells its products to Europe where it has a subsidiary company in Belgium, the Middle East and Africa.

A private company, it employs over 160 staff making it one of the largest employers in the area. Request free introductory details about products from Clark-Drain ...
