Contract for the refurbishment of Castlemilk Swimming Pool has been awarded to Clark Contracts by Glasgow City Council.

A £3million contract for the refurbishment of Castlemilk Swimming Pool has been awarded to Clark Contracts by Glasgow City Council The 78 week project, partially funded by The Big Lottery Fund, will include the demolition and replacement of existing changing rooms, plant rooms, diving boards and flumes, construction of new filtration plant rooms, offices, lift, a special needs viewing gallery and the makeover of all existing finishes

Commenting on the contract win, Gordon Cunningham, managing director of Clark Contracts, said, "Clark Contracts is delighted to be involved in such a pivotal refurbishment project that will bring significant benefits to the people of Castlemilk".

"The aim of the project is to provide a modern community swimming pool of Castlemilk, upgrading the facilities to today's standards".

Work on the swimming pool at Castlemilk Drive has just commenced and will be completed by December 2007.

The transformation of the Castlemilk Swimming Pool is the latest in a number of high profile contracts won by Clark Contracts including the upgrading of academic facilities at Heriot Watt University and the refurbishment of Glasgow's Theatre Royal.
