Clark Contracts wins a number of high value contracts in Scotland's burgeoning social housing sector and ongoing contracts with household names like Gala Coral.

Customer-focused initiatives pay dividends Clark Contracts, the Paisley headquartered construction, refurbishment and maintenance company, saw its turnover rise by over fifty per cent to GBP46 million in 2006, comfortably outstripping its own half year projections by GBP3 million A number of high value contract wins in Scotland's burgeoning social housing sector and ongoing contracts with household names like Gala Coral contributed to the accelerated growth

The east of Scotland office, set up in 2003 is also now a well-established part of the group, contributing GBP12 million of group turnover in the year to end October 2006.

Clark Contracts' customer base is drawn from both public and private sector across a wide range of sectors.

Clark Contracts carries out work ranging from maintenance repairs to contract projects with typical values ranging from between GBP100k - GBP6m.

Welcoming the figures, Gordon Cunningham, managing director, said: "One of the most pleasing aspects is that growth has come across all areas of our operation.

Without question the hard work we have undertaken to differentiate ourselves with our service from that of our competitors through initiatives such as Customers 1st has paid dividends.

Our customers have responded very positively which has, in turn, had a beneficial effect on our sales figures.

Clark Contracts' Customers 1st campaign is a unique, self-designed customer care programme which operates at every level of the business and aims to set unprecedented service standards in the building industry.

The programme centres around so called "moments of truth," those specific times and places where customers form their lasting impressions of the company, good, bad or simply indifferent.

Clark Contracts Zero Defects Team was set up to minimise snagging issues that are known to provoke annoyance amongst customers in the industry and the team sets out to eliminate that before it becomes an irritation.

Clark Contracts, which started as a local joinery and shop fitting business in the late seventies, is now one of Scotland's most successful independent building, construction, refurbishment and maintenance companies employing over 230 people at offices in Paisley and Edinburgh.
