A Celsum Technologies product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Dec 11, 2009

Celsum Technologies has designed and marketed a device aimed at assessing the workability of cement-based mixes.

Celsum Technologies is working with a range of industries who handle bulk multi-phase materials, in order to demonstrate the benefits of its CTPT2 Two-Point Workability Tester.

The CTPT2 tests the consistency of fresh cement, concrete and other materials, replacing the slump test.

The instrument is based on a technique originally developed in the 1970s and has been re-designed by Celsum to include servodrive precision speed control, contactless torque sensor and safety features including guards fitted with dual fail-safe interlocked limit switches and a torque overload safety clutch.

A software package has been developed to provide a user-friendly interface which records information for looking at batch to batch quality, troubleshooting potential problems and providing information for research and development.

The machine uses a sample of around 20 litres (4 gallons).

An impeller is immersed in the sample and rotates at a range of controlled speeds, monitoring variables automatically.
