Clivet success with the SPIN chiller and ELFO energy range of water chillers.

With increased cooling demands, the effect of climate change and demanding design criteria there is a real need for high quality air-conditioning throughout the UK workplace and in places of leisure Clivet's approach to these requirements is to offer a comprehensive range of equipment in a variety of versions that can be easily tailored to the customer's needs

Clivet has always believed in introducing emerging technologies when designing its next generation of products and this has certainly proven successful with the SPIN chiller and ELFO energy range of water chillers.

The Company's design engineers have placed considerable emphasis on energy savings, together with ease of installation and low levels of maintenance.

The ELFO energy series encompasses chillers ranging from 23-70 kW, and once again provide excellent operational reliability, high efficiency and simplicity of use and installation.

The ELFO energy is an all-in-one unit and, if required, can incorporate a back up water circulating pump to help ensure uninterrupted service.

By virtue of the capacity step control, ELFO energy units can operate at higher temperatures than traditional units.

Free cooling.

Clivet chillers offer a number of energy efficiency features including 'free' cooling, heat recovery, load management and fan speed control.

When the outside temperature is low, 'free' cooling can be achieved, with this feature being fine-tuned by fan speed control.

The appropriate conditions for 'free' cooling and frost protection are accurately monitored by the chiller's integral control system.

The SPIN chiller series, with units ranging from 180 - 770 kW, offers major benefits to the end user including increased efficiency at part loads.

When compared to conventional systems, the efficiency can almost double when loads are below 50%.

A key feature of the SPIN chiller series is that the compressors are activated in response to the load sensed by the system and the time the compressors remain in operation is optimised by state of the art control devices.

This has the effect of ensuring high efficiency, extended compressor life and reduced cycling, which in turn reduces the level of starting current.

The self adapting capability of the SPIN chiller also helps to reduce the need for thermal storage.

In developing the SPIN chiller series, Clivet's engineers have made system reliability a prime issue, so should there be a malfunction in one of the modular compressors this will not affect the operation of others.
