mCERTs Approval For ABB Continuous Gas Analysers
The range of Continuous Gas Analysers and systems manufactured and marketed by ABB Limited has recently been certified to the latest mCERTs standards.
These units offer substantial savings both in both capital and running costs.
In traditional chillers operating at part load the efficiency is often reduced.
However, the Spinchiller capitalises on the increased heat exchanger's surface area at part loads to ensure higher EERs (Energy Efficiency Rating) and ESEERs (European Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio).
Additionally the new range can satisfy varying installation locations as they offer very compact footprint areas.
The compressors are intelligently controlled through the use of unique algorithms that are designed with both efficiency and reliability in mind.
By employing batteries of smaller compressors the control system optimises the compressor starting and shutdown to more closely meet the load requirements.
There is an additional benefit of this design as it reduces wear on the compressors due to its self adaptive control system.
The control system algorithms help minimise the number of compressor starts as well as balancing the number of starts per compressor to ensure prolonged service life.
Efficiency is largely guaranteed by the use of electronic expansion valves, which are controlled to optimise the superheat.
This ensures it is both fast acting and precise due to the microprocessor PID control.
It also ensures improved operating conditions for the compressor due to the lower discharge temperatures and by preventing liquid return to the compressor.
Additionally a reduction in refrigerant is also achieved along with improved reliability of the refrigerant system.
The main source of sound from the chiller is produced by the fans and it is desirable to keep sound levels to a minimum whenever possible.
For this reason Clivet's Spinchiller is fitted as standard with automatic fan speed control that operates with changes to thermal load.
This brings important benefits especially at night-time when units are frequently operating at part loads.
It is estimated that for 90% of the time the sound pressure can be 6-8-Db (A) lower than at maximum load.
Additionally the Spinchiller incorporates advanced design "winglet" aerofoil fan blade tips; this innovative design both reduces noise and energy consumption.
Sound levels can also be reduced through use of the ECOBreeze option that consists of high efficiency electronically controlled brushless motors.
This innovative design is based on a permanent magnet rotor combined with an advanced magnetic field electronic switching on the stator integrated within the motor itself.
Once again Clivet has achieved impressive energy savings along with reduced sound levels and improved fan life.
The Spinchiller WSAT XSC range can also incorporate the Hydropack, a modular pump set permitting automatic flow control.
