Oceana Boulevard is situated on a busy thoroughfare in close proximity to the sea.
Because of this location, the brief specified fenestration systems of flexible design that could withstand implications of a marine environment; allow fast-track installation and fulfil the demands of the complex envelope.
To ensure the most suitable and modern glazed systems were specified for curtain walling, doors and windows, Southern Glass were involved at early planning stages and worked closely with Barratts and the architect.
Oceana Boulevard contains over 700 Comar 5P.i.
tilt and turn windows with slim outer framing.
Comar 5P.i.
is a polyamide insulated window system which offers exceptional thermal efficiency.
Comar 5P.i.
has two separately extruded profiles, which are then rolled together with a P.i.
strip forming the thermal break, this offers a dual colour option which was utilised in this project.
All windows were polyester powder coated to standard white RAL on the inside and grey RAL on the outside to match the rest of the glazed systems.
Comar 6 curtain walling spans all 12 storeys of the stairwells throughout the building's facades, incorporating bottom-hung Comar 5P.i.
windows for use as smoke vents.
Comar 6 also provides the elegant glazed walling in the penthouses.
The slim 50mm sight lines ensure the fenestration sustains the building's contemporary look and permits the uninterrupted views over the sea.
Comar 7P.i., Comar polyamide insulated doors, were incorporated into balconies with curved facades.
