Pre-fabricated building specialist Composite has won a contract to design and build two multi-storey car parks for Slough Estates at Farnborough Business Park.

Pre-fabricated building specialist Composite has won a contract to design and build two multi-storey car parks for Slough Estates at Farnborough Business Park.

The contract includes the construction of its bespoke Parcon precast concrete frames together with the stair towers, ground floor plant areas, waterproofing, white lining and above ground drainage.

The car parks will provide parking facilities for two office developments by Slough Estates.

One is to provide 144 spaces for a refurbished building, which will also include a Heritage Centre, cafe/bar, offices and studios.

The other car park will provide 238 spaces for two new four storey office blocks.

The frames will be constructed off-site delivering the best of Modern Methods of Construction.

Being exposed, the concrete frames will form a feature at the front of the development.

Composite's Managing Director Roy Nield-Dumper said: "We have a wealth of experience in the design, supply and construction of structural frames for car parks and to date have completed more than 50 projects".

"Precast concrete enables us to provide robust, durable and economic solutions capable of enduring the harsh environment and working life of a car park structure".

"Our designs always have the end user in mind - we facilitate easy entrance and exit for vehicles and pedestrians, easy parking space location and security".

This is the second car park contract Composite has carried out for Slough Estates.

Work started on site in August and the project is due for completion early in January 2006.

Composite will work in partnership with Carillion Building, Allies and Morrison Architects and WSP Cantor Seinuck.
