New Menvier Fire Detection System

Cooper Lighting and Security has new Menvier Fire Detection System which offers advanced features and simple operation.

Cooper Lighting and Security has expanded its Menvier product range with the addition of a new fire detection system that provides all the advanced functionality expected of a top-flight analogue addressable system, coupled with the simplicity of operation demanded by today's building users.

Known as the DF6000, the new system comprises a control panel and a truly comprehensive range of compatible ancillary devices, including detectors, callpoints, sounders, beacons, repeater panels, and input and output interfaces.

At the heart of the system is the DF6000 panel, which features a large touch-screen display with a 120 x 90mm visible area.

As well as providing detailed system-status information, the display also acts as a multifunction keypad, and it is this versatility that enables an extensive array of user and engineering facilities to be incorporated into the panel while at the same time making it easy to operate.

Context-sensitive help information is provided throughout the menus to assist those who are unfamiliar with the system, so most users can add or remove devices or change device text via the panel without the need for a service engineer to visit the site.

The panel also incorporates conventional zone indication LEDs and system-status LEDs, which can readily be understood even by non-technical users.

Available in single, two or four-loop versions, the DF6000 panel can be flush or surface mounted, and its generously sized metal back box provides ample space for the integral power supply, battery and optional printer.

Each loop can accommodate up to 150 addresses (although EN54 allows a maximum of only 512 devices to be connected to any individual panel), and up to 63 panels can be networked together to form a single system capable of operating with over 32,000 devices.

Spur-tolerant soft addressing greatly simplifies the commissioning process and eliminates the potential for errors that traditionally arises from the manual addressing of devices.

The DF6000 range of ancillary devices includes optical, ionisation, photo-thermal and heat detectors; callpoints in various styles; a choice of base-mounted and stand-alone sounders; a loop-powered beacon; low-cost passive repeater panels; and a wide variety of input and output interfaces.
