Cooper Lighting and Security has added a low-cost conventional fire panel to its JSB range of products.

As well as providing basic fire detection and alarm facilities, the FX4200 series panel is supplied as standard with a backup battery and all necessary end-of-line devices to provide full detector removal functionality as required by BS5839 Part 1 2002 Section 12.2.2 Representing exceptional value for money, the new panel is particularly suitable for use in smaller installations

It is available in a choice of two-zone or four-zone versions, with a capacity of up to 20 detectors per zone plus an unlimited number of call points.

Easy to install and use, the FX4200 features a five-button keypad for the control of all functions.

A commissioning walk test feature allows the system to be easily tested after installation, and weekly testing can be quickly carried out using a simple 'one shot' test facility with auto-reset.

The panel also offers zone/sounder circuit disabling for ease of maintenance.

Detector and alarm circuits are constantly monitored for open-circuit and short-circuit faults, and the panel is equipped with a comprehensive array of power, fire and fault LED indicators, as well as an integral piezo buzzer.

In addition, the FX4200 has some features that would normally only be found on much more expensive systems, including a programmable fire/fault output relay, a class change facility for use in schools or colleges, and a 24V DC auxiliary output.

Measuring 300 x 300 x 74mm, this compact panel is compatible with the latest JSB FXN520 series detectors and bases.
