Corus Colorsteels shows its mettle in new markets
Corus Colorsteels boasts Europe's most advanced flat bed powder coating line and it's in big demand from cutting edge architects working on prestigious construction projects.
Corus Colorsteels is already recognised as the UK's leading supplier and processor of innovative precoated steels, but its unique powder coating line now gives architects something they've previously never had - the ability to design buildings with coloured aluminium facades in any colour they want, with no minimum order requirement.
Rod Collier, account manager for Colorsteels' powder coatings, explains: "We've been making it cost effective to add signature finishing touches in steel for a while, but now the same technique is available in aluminium".
"Colorsteels holds stocks in different thicknesses, ready to be formed and sent straight to the site, and this reduces costs, adds real value and provides a much slicker supply chain for the customer base".
One company quick to take advantage was longstanding customer Eliteform based in Dundalk, Southern Ireland, who specialise in flashings and gutters for state-of-the-art shopping centres, retail parks and automotive showrooms.
They were quick to respond to architect's increasing demand for Flexicoattm aluminium, because of the greater flexibility if offers and the better standard of finish that can be achieved - all underpinned by an attractive price and service package.
Operations director Martin O'Hare says: "The Colorsteels' service on the aluminium product is as good as ever, whilst they're also very competitive".
"We've also achieved some pretty impressive gold and bronze shades apart from the very popular metallic silver".
"We also specialise in the more tricky bull-nose flashings and curved barge-boar detail, but because these can be fabricated straight from the pre-finished aluminium it makes life easier for all concerned.
Eliteform also excel in the fabrication and general engineering sectors because they have very sophisticated machinery that allows them to produce long single-piece gutters up to eight metres in length.
Corus Colorsteels is one of the few companies in Europe able to offer this unique product and service, with no order too small and still able to make a dramatic difference to both the budget and finished article.
The new powder line can coat flat or shallow-formed metal fabrications in batches of any size, while still meeting the most demanding standards for aesthetics and surface quality.
A bespoke colour matching service is available and the coatings range from smooth through to coarse textures, metallic finishes, dual colours - even a special anti-graffiti finish that resists permanent ink and spray paint.
