Twelve months after moving into its new 10,000 sq.ft.purpose-built facility, Cranford Controls' output is more than 300% higher than the corresponding period a year ago, enabling the company to improve service levels to its global customers.

Cranford specialise in the design and manufacture of sounders, beacons and ancillary devices for the fire, security and process control industries, playing a vital part in increasing life safety throughout the world.

The new factory, located in Alton, UK, is approved to ISO9001:2000 by LPCB: it was commissioned in response to a sustained increase in demand from the company's extensive international customer base.

Design and development, incorporating specialised mechanical and electronic expertise, is supported by a sophisticated CAD system; in-house prototyping capability reduces time to market.

Further investment, which will provide in-house environmental test facilities, is currently under way.

Advanced manufacturing, organised on a cell basis and supported by new manufacturing management software, provides short lead-time production of both standard and customised products.

Extensive standard product stock holding provides customers with JIT delivery.
