Metal cladding provides a maintenance free material with a selection of colours and profiles.
To reflect the P brand status, and to provide impact, P Developments and its architects specified Celestia by Corus, in three shades - Orion, a mid-range silver for the low level, horizontal cladding; Atlantis blue to match the P corporate colours for the feature band and highlights on the eves, corners and joints and the higher level composite panels in Sirius, a lighter shade of silver.
The roof of the building features HPS200 by Corus in Albatross, a light grey chosen to reflect the light and heat.
Neil Haarhoff from Michael Sparks Associates, architects on the project, comments: "Warehouse buildings can often be uninspiring to look at, so we chose Celestia to add architectural value to the warehouse and office space.

Triple barrel vault standing seam Colorcoat HPS 200 pre-finished steel roof from Corus in Merlin Grey is the main feature of the building.
Both Celestia HPS200 come with the Confidex guarantee which is offered direct from Corus to the building owner and gives the building added commercial value.
This guarantee is easily transferable should the building be sold at a later stage." Reg Morris, Project Director, P Developments, says: "P Developments worked closely with the architects, Michael Sparks Associates, to specify the building exactly for its intended lifespan, and we were insistent on the coating for the metal cladding coming with an extensive guarantee.
It is a high quality building, which serves as both office space and warehousing, and this is why we had to have a durable, quality finish." The high security warehouse is due for completion in October 2003 and will be fully operational by early 2004.
The building is a fast-track development, with the whole project taking just over a year from finding and buying the site, achieving planning permission, through to completion.
The building is operational 24-hours a day, and is the first fully bonded warehouse to be built for P Ferries. Request a free brochure from Corus Colors ...
