Colorcoat HPS200 - A Perfect Match

Leyton Orient's regenerated Matchroom Stadium is now complete, with Colorcoat HPS200 and Colorcoat Celestia used in a range of colours for the roof and wall cladding.

The new West Stand at Leyton Orient's regenerated Matchroom Stadium on Brisbane Road is now complete, with Colorcoat HPS200 and Colorcoat Celestia used in a range of colours for the roof and wall cladding Colorcoat HPS200 was chosen to complement the cladding on the existing South Stand therefore providing continuity throughout the ground

It was applied to the roof cladding panels in Albatross and to the wall cladding in three colours - Albatross, White and Merlin.

AHA Architects, who were responsible for the stadium design and material specification, chose Colorcoat HPS200 for its durability and quality of finish.

The use of the product in white for one section of the main elevation created a striking background for any signage or corporate logos at the entrance.

It also highlights the club's main hospitality entrance.

Colorcoat Celestia in Sirius was specified for its ability to create a modern, contemporary appearance to the main elevation.

"We wanted a highly striking cladding solution that would complement the other cladding on the remaining stands around the ground," comments project architect, Neil Macleod of AHA Architects.

"The metallic finish fulfilled these requirements and provided a highly contemporary finish".

One of the key issues was the length of the guarantees offered for the Colorcoat products.

Both Colorcoat HPS200 and Colorcoat Celestia are covered by the Corus Confidex Guarantee issued directly to the stadium owner for a period up to thirty years.

This was a major benefit in the specification process as the guarantee gives assurance of the quality of the Corus products and in the unlikely event of any problems these would be dealt with directly by the company.

The sale of land at all four corners of the ground was a major contributor to the funding of the stadium redevelopment, and Bellway Homes is in the process of constructing residential properties on the sites.

It has already been decided that because of the benefits of using the Colorcoat products and the services which back them up, Colorcoat HPS200 in RAL 7016 will be used for the roof cladding.

RAL 7016 is the chosen colour choice of the windows and other metalwork that feature throughout the club and residential development. Request a free brochure from Corus Colors ...
